Katharine Ross, pictured here with her “The Graduate” co-star Dustin Hoffmann, turns 75 today. Ross received an Oscar nomination for her role as Elaine Robinson in Mike Nichols’ iconic dark comedy “The Graduate” (1967), and also starred in “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969) and “The Stepford Wives” (1975). While working on the (kinda forgettable) horror film “The Legacy” (1978), Ross met fabulously mustachioed actor Sam Elliott, and the two married and welcomed daughter Cleo in 1984. In 1991, Ross and Elliott adapted Louis L’Amour’s western novel “Conagher” for television. Ross is known to younger audiences as Jake Gyllenhaal’s psychiatrist in the cult favorite “Donnie Darko” (2001).
Happy Birthday, Katharine Ross!
